More than a name.

AMAI, a word from the Shona language meaning “Mother,” was chosen to reflect the unwavering dedication, unyielding strength, tender care and vibrant artistry of our makers.

These collections are meticulously hand-crafted by caregivers — parents and guardians of persons with disabilities (PWDs) — at the Africa Ability Trust center in Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya.
